Today, Thursday 28 February 2019, the DA Limpopo Premier Candidate, Jacques Smalle MPL and DA Provincial Spokesperson on Quality of Life & Status of Women, Youth and Disability, Katlego Suzan Phala MPL will lead a picket outside Polokwane Magistrate Court where five suspects aged 15 and 16 will be making their first court appearance. They are accused of murdering a 27-year-old Thoriso Themane in Flora Park over the weekend.
It is alleged that the man was severely beaten by a group of learners and later succumbed to his injuries.
As deplorable as this incident is, the DA calls on the community to allow the law to take its course, as we believe that justice will prevail.
The deteriorating moral fibre of our society requires all sectors of society to come together so we can Build One South Africa for All.
Smalle and Phala will be joined by DA Councillors and DA activists.
The DA conveys its heartfelt condolences and prayers to the family of the deceased during this difficult period.
