MPUMALANGA police are looking for suspects who robbed G4S staff at 3.50pm on Saturday between the Dayizenza Mall and the Numbi turnoff in the Masoyi area.

The cops say while the men were travelling from Dayizenza towards Hazyview in their armed vehicle, the employees heard the sound of bullets at the back of them.

When they tried to escape, other vehicles started shooting at them from the front and their vehicle was forced to stop.

Captain Dineo Sekgotodi said the suspects took the driver and crew’s firearms and forced the men into the bush.

They used explosives to blow open the vehicle and got away with an undisclosed amount of cash.

“After the suspects left, people came and collected money left scattered at the scene of crime,” said Sekgotodi.

Major-General Ntombizodwa Mokoena strongly condemned the residents’ actions at the scene of crime.

He said those who were found to have tampered with the crime scene will face the might of the law.

Anyone with information must please call provincial operations commander Brigadier Obed Ngwenya on 082 565 6417 or the investigating officer on 071 481 3250.
